There is a new trend setting on brides’ special wedding days. For some time the “in thing” was to have a first dance with a twist, which would begin with a slow, typical first-dance type of song and then about a quarter of the way through, you would hear the record scratch and the bride and groom would bust out dancing to a choreographed ensemble designed to entertain the guests. Although, this was an awesome bit of surprise for any wedding, it almost began to become expected as more and more couples were venturing to put on a performance of their own.
Well, It seems as though the gears have shifted a bit, and brides are becoming more inclined to share a fun little twist with their father during the Father/Daughter dance. And based on my own past observation, the fathers were better dancers 🙂
This first part is a very touching story, and prompted me to speak about this topic. Janel’s father recently passed away and it reminded me how fragile life really is. I was shocked and saddened by this news, but in the same light I was honored that I had provided her with something special. I had provided her with a special memory of not just a wedding film, where unlike photos she can also relive what her father said, how he acted, his emotions, in other words being able to see her father in living form, and for a moment be able to relive that moment with her father all over again. Their dance together was a very fun and memorable moment, and I am privileged to provide, not only Janel, but the entire Hornsby family this memory….
Such a beautiful memory! Reminds us that life is short! So thankful for video!
Suzi, a memory we wish you could’ve had with your father… Love you baby…
Thank you Terrence for sharing this beautiful story. I’m sure the family will find solace in seeing his happiness and that fact that he lived to see his daughter get married. I will always cherish the entire video that your created for us, but my father/ daughter dance and my first dance with my husband always evokes such positively strong emotions. Your cinematography is the BEST memory of our wedding. Hands down. Thanks again for sharing!
Janel, may you find comfort in knowing your father is always looking after you. I’m so sorry for you loss.
Thank you Chenine, you are so awesomely sweet, seriously, I am so glad our paths have crossed. Your Daddy dance is next 🙂
Truley the element of what makes weddings most memorable.
I will be sure to share this on my Face Book page. http://on.fb.me/blesdny
Thank you Adrianne 🙂
Wow, I don’t even know where to start. Maybe by saying Lighten Films, truely a company that cares. Terrance I thank you so much. You are truely a blessing to myself and my family. From the beautiful card you went out of your way to get me for my fathers passsing to a great video you produced. I will never be able to thank you enough. The little things you have done have meant so much to me. It was so hard for me to watch the video of my wedding, because of dad passing so recently, but I watched this dance of my father and I lastnight and it put me at peace. I just sat there, smiled and teared up. It made me feel like my father was with me, and I realized how special this video is to me. You never know when it’s your time to meet with God. My father was fifty years old and had a heart attack. I feel closer to my father each time I watch this. I will treasure this video forever. The family and I are so thankful we choose to have this done. If not for this wedding video I would not be able to hear his voice again or see his AWESOME dancing skills. 🙂 I thank you from the bottom of my heart, you and Suzie have touched not only myself but my entire family as well. Not only do you do a great job, but Terrance you really do care, and that is what makes you different. There will always be a place in my heart for you and Suzie. I cannot express my feelings enough for your hard work, but I can say ” THANK YOU”.
If you are looking for a great company that cares, I highly suggest Lighten Films.I would also like to thank everyone for the nice comments you have posted. I feel at peace, thank you so much.
Thank you Janel for letting me become a part of your family as well for your kind words. I’m glad you are at peace, if you need anything else you know how to reach me 🙂
